RATS ARE PESTS!!!

Rats are pests and here are some reasons/facts why they are pests.  Rats are pests because they are omnivores meaning that they eat things like: kiwi eggs, weta and other native New Zealand animals.  As you can see the rat has a variety of food sources making them competitors for native animals.  There are thousands of them making them a huge pest.

puriri moth

On Monday my class all did a slide about an animal that is native to New Zealand and and as you can see from the picture I picked the Puriri moth and and I think it was a good pick

It was a little hard because the tabs that my teacher put up didn't help too much I only got my info from books because I did not find anything on the tabs. It was still hard because I didn't want to just copy from the books so instead I had to try and turn it into my own words which is a little bit hard but I still did it other wise this blog post would not be here.

I hope you enjoyed reading about the puriri moth.

What Good are Wings without the Courage to Fly?

On Friday we had pink shirt day and like in the name you wear a pink shirt and as much pink as possible. In the morning everyone painted 4 feathers in different shades of pink and my teacher took all of the feathers and turned them into a pair of angle wings and we all stood in front of the feathers and above the feathers was the saying "What good are wings without the courage to fly?" and had a picture.

The rest of pink shirt was just a normal at lest I think so because I left early to go to Auckland so I don`t really know what happened.

In my opinion pink shirt day was good.

pohutukawa art

One day me and my class did some art around the pohutukawa tree it was quite hard because we had to get every single white spot that was viable that was probably the reason why it was so hard. Another thing that was quite hard was the part when we had to do the drawing aka the outline because trees have lots of different shapes and sizes the same with the leaves there is lots of different shapes and sizes.  Now for the good and fun parts!  One of the best parts is probably the part when we got to do the background with the dye the colours where blue and purple and if you were wondering the dye colours for the pohutukawa tree were green and of course red and the outline colours were black and white. For the outline we used crayons.  To be honest I don't know why we didn't use pastels to do the outline ether that or I just forgot. To be honest l think it was a pretty fun piece of art to do.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my phoutukawa art.
